Other blogs with a similar name...

Those other blogs are gossip blogs, meant to impress the blogger's friends. None of them even mention philosophy or Plato or anything even remotely related to the title. I thought philosophy professors or at least interested students of philosophy would choose the title PK. Assumptions we make.

Yet, I would not count on a readership for this title because the PKs never got any respect to start with: only the fascists, tyrants, dictators, etc get the attention since not only have those people, the PKs, not ruled; they don't even want to rule because of all the pain the truth causes people.

Philosopher--Kings... do not want to rule!!!!

The blog about philosophy, politics, religion, and education. What is wrong with the American system of government--if anything--and what can be done about it? Where are we headed in the next thirty years? What do the tomes (or tombs) say about philosophy and government? What about the new rhetoric of the visual? The new texts (if any!)? What role should religion play, if any? (Don't assume we are all agnostics now, you ass!) Last, perhaps most interestingly, how can we educate to create a better future for philosophy and politics? What about music and gymnastics as Plato wrote of? Does anyone deserve to make the decisions? Who and why?
